Form fitting, flexible shin guards
Soccer players have a love/hate relationship with shin guards. They require a balance between suitable protection and weight, comfort and bulkiness. Today’s NOCSAE impact standards are forcing equipment makers to “bulk up” shin guards to pass the impact and sizing tests. The end result is heavier shin guards with stiffer plastic shells that don’t fit your leg properly, are uncomfortable and bulky. At the same time, NFHS is regulating the positioning of shin guards, basically how athletes are allowed to wear shin guards. Something’s got to give.
Hexoflex™ technology introduces a new breed of shin guard that affords a 100% custom fitting that passes all NOSCAE requirements for protection. Our injection molded shell has 32 individual parts that are set against a durable polyester backing fabric. This fully flexible shell is supplemented with the NOCSAE insert – a light weight plastic die cut with a 6mm EVA pad.
We finish the guards with a brushed polyester lined EVA backing. The end result is a fully flexible, light weight, breathable shin guard.
- CONFORMABLE 32-PANEL SHELL: The hard outter shell is a novel 32-panel design that conforms to any player’s leg. The 2.8mm HDPE shell is overmolded onto a tough 280g polyester mesh fabric for great durability and flexibility.
- NOCSAE INSERT: The insert consists of a 1.2mm PP shell and a 6mm EVA foam wedge situated in the NOCSAE test area strikezone for superior force diffusion.
- MINIMAL CONTACT BACKING: The 10mm EVA foam backing nas been embossed with a hexagonal pattern that keeps you cool by allowing air to flow between the shin guard and the leg.
- BREATHABLE SHORT SLEEVE: The breathable elastic short sleeve secures the shin guard to the leg without constricting the calf muscle.
